ROBRADY design — 2019
This was one of the many projects created during my time at ROBRADY design, being the lead designer from the initial wireframe, to the final screen you see here. Collaborating with both users and programmers of Medallion Instrumentation Systems, we came together to create an elegant solution to their next-in-line high-end watercraft that is both stylish and simple to navigate.
When given the context for this project, the words “watercraft” and “elegant” brought to mind dreamy blue colors, lightweight typography, sharp and round edges, and a bit of shine. I incorporated these elements into something I thought would be fitting for the concept of the boat. The hero screen I created was the first and only concept, as Medallion fell in love at first sight. With the exception of darkening parts of the background for the sake of contrast, there weren’t many revisions to follow.
Of all the HMI’s I created at ROBRADY, this one has to be my favorite. Not only am I proud that I nailed it on the first pass, but the overall design was fun to make, and I think it came out really well!
This project garnered a Good Design award in 2019 in the Interactive Media category.
